Significant work in town camps happening now
Our department is rolling out $24 million worth of work in town camps, following the release of the Town Camps Review Report last month.
The work addresses urgent housing and infrastructure needs, as highlighted in the review, and it’s happening quickly.
Yilli Reung Housing Aboriginal Corporation completed the first two houses in the Bagot community this week.
These were vacant properties, which have been upgraded for use as transitional accommodation.

The work in Bagot is only the beginning.
There is another seven homes identified for work in this community alone in this financial year, as well as significant road and street lighting upgrades.
