Something to crow about
The most hotly contested event in the Territory is here again and this year the theme is Year of the Rooster.
Entries are now open for the 2017 Public Housing Garden Competition for urban public housing tenants in Darwin, Casuarina, Palmerston, Alice Springs including town camps and Tennant Creek including community living areas.
The Top End competition will again see our agency partner with the Royal Darwin Show, and the Katherine and Alice Springs competitions will partner with the Katherine and District Show and the Alice Springs Show for the first time.
This year categories are different in each region to reflect the diversity of public housing across the Territory, and the respective climates.
To keep with the regional shows closing dates for entries are slightly different. The Top End competition closes on 23 June, entries for Tennant Creek and Katherine both close on 30 June and the Alice Springs competition closes on 23 June. Winners for the Top End, Alice Springs and Katherine competitions will be announced at the respective shows.
Judges are excited to be invited into our tenant’s gardens each year and look forward to being impressed by their creativity, innovation and dedication.Let’s encourage our tenants to enter the competition and ensure 2017 is a show stopper!
