The first Our Community. Our Future. Our Homes. Industry Forum will be held on 18-19 April.
This is an opportunity for businesses to learn more about the 10 year $1.1 billion Remote Housing Investment Package Our Community. Our Future. Our Homes and how you can get involved.
Day one - Representatives from the Department of Housing and Community Development will be available to answer any questions, as well as other government agencies including the Department of Trade Business and Innovation, and the Department of Infrastructure Planning and Logistics.
Businesses can speak to these agencies to learn more about current support programs and subjects such as procurement rules, responsibilities and processes, and much more.
Plus, hear from great guest speakers including award-winning architect Kieran Wong who is developing a culturally and place-based response to housing settlement and design on Groote Eylandt and East Arnhem Land.
Most importantly, this forum is an opportunity for businesses to engage and learn from each other.
Day two (Industry Day) - The forum will focus on innovative solutions to all aspects of remote housing which is happening within industry. The department is seeking submissions from organisations and individuals to present their ideas. For further information, click here.
The two day forum is being held at the Doubletree by Hilton, the Esplanade Darwin on 18-19 April.

Industry Day invite to present
The Department of Housing and Community Development is seeking submissions from organisations and individuals to present innovative solutions about:
- Remote housing design and construction.
- Transitional housing options for remote tenants to reside while work is taking place in their community.
- Remote housing construction materials and internal fits outs.
- Sustainable and renewable energy alternatives for items such as power, water and sewerage.
- Remote delivery models aimed at workforce, sustainable training and development, joint ventures or partnerships.
- Building skills, long term work capacity and opportunities for remote Territory communities.
Submissions will be reviewed and those selected will be invited to present on day two of the 'Our Community. Our Future. Our Homes. Remote Housing Industry Forum' on 19 April.
Submissions close COB, Friday 23 March.
A confirmation to present will be sent to successful applicants by Friday 30 March.

The Northern Territory Government’s $1.1 billion Our Community. Our Future. Our Homes. Investment Package is being rolled across 10 years to improve housing in remote communities. This will focus on local decision making, engagement and planning and concentrates on local participation to deliver the work, to promote local economic development and develop local skills to build and manage housing.
